Class Descriptions:

BDSM Basics

Brand new to BDSM, but don’t know where to start?

The BDSM Basics Workshop gives you an overview of what’s involved in the exciting world of kink. Begin by learning some basic terminology about the different types of dynamics. Find out how to explore your options and discover what appeals to you. Get some tips and tricks on incorporating BDSM into your already existing relationship(s) or find an already kinky partner.

Next, we start some hands-on learning about play. Discover common desires with your partner(s) through a short BDSM checklist. We will discuss the basics of negotiation and the importance of informed consent so that you and your partner(s) feel more comfortable talking about kink.

Prepare to get your hands “dirty” as we learn some valuable sensual spanking techniques and how to structure a scene. Finally, it’s time to break out the rope! Learn a few practical, simple bondage techniques that anyone can do. Of course, bondage safety is an important part of learning BDSM and participants will gain a solid understanding of basic bondage & rope safety.

Negotiation for BDSM Play & Relationships

Negotiation is one of the fundamental skills a person needs to explore BDSM. It is how we get the scenes and relationships we want, it ensures that we are on the same page as our partners and helps to ensure that we have affirmative, informed consent.

We will begin with the basics. We will deconstruct affirmative, informed consent and discover why it’s the gold standard in BDSM. We will talk about different consent and negotiation styles and where they are best suited. Each participant is encouraged to think about their own risk profile and what level of risk is acceptable for them using the SSC, RACK, PRICK & the 4 C’s.

Developing the skills needed for negotiation can be difficult. Strategies for gaining these skills, for discovering your own boundaries and limits will be discussed.

Finally, we will talk about what elements you may want to include in your negotiations. You are encouraged to think about which elements you will want to use in varying situations – what a person discusses for a pick-up play scene will be different than what they negotiate in a TPE style relationship.

Wax Play 101

Hot wax dripping over your partner’s naked, vulnerable flesh will send shivers of excitement down their spine and a rush of warmth over their skin – nothing more – as you both enjoy the relaxing flickering of the candlelight.

Learn about the different types of wax that are acceptable for wax play, what types can be used for advanced players and what types should be avoided altogether. We will also discuss other sensation techniques to enhance the wax play experience including other forms of temperature play, the use of bladed scrapers to remove wax and more.

Safety considerations will feature prominently in the discussions as well as a thorough understanding of the skin and how heat affects it. We will also cover emergency burn care so that you know what to do when things go wrong.

There will be a lecture -tyle portion of the class followed by live demos.

Bondage for Beginners

Bondage is a large part of BDSM – it’s what the “B” stands for, after all!

Come out and learn the basics of bondage! Ideal for those who are just starting out, or those who know the ropes, but want to improve their quick and effective ties. We will focus on rope bondage, but will also touch on favourites such as leather restraints, plastic wrap and tape bondage.

Safety first! We will take a look at what you need to know before you get started. Simple anatomy, how to engage in bondage safely and what to do in an emergency will be covered. We will focus on the fundamentals that you need to know to safely engage in floor (or bed) style bondage.

We will start with a simple locking rope cuff that you can pre-tie before your scene begins. This helps eliminate nerves for beginners to bondage. The cuff won’t tighten around the wrist, ankle or anything else once you lock it into place, making it safer for those who like to struggle.

We will then move to the ever-popular hog-tie, complete with modifications for those less flexible or with mobility impairments. A double collum tie, rope spreader bar and a practical wrist to thigh tie will round out the rope section of the workshop. These ties are designed to give you options that will work for both sex and play while being relatively simple to perform. Participants are also encouraged to improvise, combine ties and get creative!

Finally, we will explore plastic wrap mummification and other less common (but equally fun) bondage ideas.

This workshop is open to people of all skill levels and abilities. If you can’t get to the floor, modifications will be shown for alternative ties that better suit your needs. If you have any concerns about your ability to participate, feel free to reach out.

Discovering Dominance

What does it mean to be a Dominant?

How does being Dominant in the bedroom differ from being Dominant in a relationship?

How can you gain the confidence to become the Dominant you want to be?

The Discovering Dominance Workshop will explore these questions and more. As a group, we will talk about what Dominance means to each of us. We will tackle common roadblocks to Dominance as well as specific issues members of the group are having.

We will discuss the purpose of rules within a D/s relationship and how to create rules that work. Since each person and relationship is different, we will cover different styles of rule-making, including Dominance without rules. Participants will also learn how to create meaningful rituals and protocols, to reinforce the D/s dynamic in a way that works for them.

Many people find that the use of archetypes can help them get in touch with their dominance and help break away from stereotypes, especially in the beginning. We will identify common Dominant archetypes and create some of our own, as we need.

Finally, we will delve into the concept of service in BDSM. What is service? How to Dominants accept and receive service? What is in it for the submissive? Workshop participants will discover different ways to gracefully receive service within a D/s relationship.

Please note: this workshop focuses on power exchange relationships – not SM play. We will not be learning any specific play techniques, instead focusing on developing our own sense of Dominance.

This class is designed for Dominants, Masters, Mistresses, Owners, Switches and anyone else who would like to discover (or enhance) their own Dominance. People who are not interested in embracing their own sense of Dominance are unlikely to enjoy the workshop.

There will be no assumptions made regarding the gender of participants, people may self-identify if they choose

Participants are encouraged to participate as much as they feel comfortable. This workshop is very interactive. The more you participate, the more you will get from the class. With that said, no one will be forced, teased, bullied or otherwise pressured into participation.

Orgasm Control, Denial & Chastity

Having control of your partner’s orgasm can bring a real sense of power. Having that control extend beyond playtime can be exciting and enjoyable for both parties. In this Denial, Chastity, & Orgasm Control Workshop, we will discuss three different methods of controlling orgasms.

First, we will explore tease and denial. This can be a very popular kink for Tops and bottoms of all genders. Teasing your partner, getting them to the edge and not allowing them release is a wonderfully cruel way to play. The best part is that this is a game that can be played in person or from a distance – fantastic for those times you can’t be together. Combine tease and denial with some of the other techniques discussed in this workshop for a great evening of entertainment!

Chastity can be practised both short and long-term. You can use a device or the honour method. This portion of the workshop will cover these aspects of chastity and more. Get suggestions on how to determine the length of time your partner should be in chastity. Learn about health and safety issues concerning chastity. Discover the ways some people ‘cheat’ and how to get around them.

Orgasm control is an umbrella term that covers many subjects. In the last portion of this workshop, we will look at general orgasm control as well as ruined orgasms and forced orgasms. We will share ideas for controlling a partner’s orgasm to help get the creativity flowing. There are many ways to ruin an orgasm and it makes a fitting punishment for bottoms who can’t control themselves. Finally, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, as anyone who has been subjected to forced orgasms can attest. Learn different ways to overload your partner, so they are begging you to stop (in a good way, of course!)

The Denial, Chastity, & Orgasm Control Workshop is lecture style. While there won’t be any demos on live subjects, examples of gear, bondage, and other techniques will be shown in class. Techniques for all genders will be discussed during the workshop.

The Workshop is presented in gender-neutral terms. This class is a safe space for LGBTQA people, attendees are expected to respect that. When needed, genitals are referred to using medical terms. Disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.

Presenter Bio:

Morgan Thorne has been practising BDSM all her adult life. She got an introduction to kink through the Queer community in the early 1990s and knew she had found ‘her people’.

Morgan has also spent a decade working as a Professional Dominant, which has allowed her to expand her skills as both a Top and a Dominant. Morgan has been offering workshops, lectures and BDSM training for a number of years as well. She has a successful Youtube channel where she educates about D/s relationships, BDSM basics and various kinky skills.

She is the author of two successful books about BDSM, including “Exploring BDSM: A Workbook for Couples (or More!) Discovering Kink“. A follow-up book is expected in early 2021.

Morgan identifies as both a Sadist and a Dominant. She enjoys playing with a variety of people of all orientations/genders/identities. BDSM is an integral part of her personal, romantic relationships. Morgan is both asexual and pan-romantic.

Prior to her work as a Professional Dominant, Morgan worked in health care. This has allowed her to gain a more thorough understanding of health and safety concerns in kink. She retired due to an injury that lead to chronic pain and disability. It also spurred her interest in medical play, a way to continue to use the skills she learned in health care and to find comfort in the loss of a much-loved career.

Morgan has been active in various forms of activism, including LGBTQIA rights and sex worker rights. She is a strong advocate for equality and the human rights of all people.
