DESCRIPTION:What does it mean to be a Dominant? \nHow does being Dominant in the bedroom differ from being Dominant in a relationship? \nHow can you gain the confidence to become the Dominant you want to be? \nThe Discovering Dominance Workshop will explore these questions and more. As a group\, we will discuss what Dominance means to us. We will tackle common roadblocks to Dominance\, and specific issues members of the group are having. \nWe will discuss the purpose of rules within a D/s relationship and how to create rules that work. Since each person and relationship is different\, we will cover different styles of rule-making\, including Dominance without rules. Participants will also learn how to create meaningful rituals and protocols to reinforce the D/s dynamic in a way that works for them. \nMany people find that using archetypes can help them connect with their dominance and break away from stereotypes\, especially in the beginning. We will identify common Dominant archetypes and create some of our own\, as needed. \nFinally\, we will delve into the concept of service in BDSM. What is service? How do Dominants accept and receive service? What is in it for the submissive? Workshop participants will discover ways to receive service within a D/s relationship gracefully. \nPlease note: this workshop focuses on power exchange relationships – not SM play. We will not be learning specific play techniques; instead\, we will focus on developing our sense of dominance. \nThis class is designed for Dominants\, Masters\, Mistresses\, Owners\, Switches and anyone who wants to discover (or enhance) their Dominance. This class is ideal for those who are just starting out or those who know the ropes but want to improve their quick and effective ties. We will focus on rope bondage but also touch on favourites such as leather restraints\, plastic wrap\, and tape bondage. \nSafety first! We will look at what you need to know before you start. Simple anatomy\, how to engage in bondage safely and what to do in an emergency will be covered. We will focus on the fundamentals that you need to know to engage in floor (or bed) style bondage safely. \nWe will start with a simple locking rope cuff you can pre-tie before your scene begins. This helps eliminate nerves for beginners to bondage. The cuff won’t tighten around the wrist\, ankle or anything else once you lock it into place\, making it safer for those who like to struggle. \nWe will then move to the ever-popular hog-tie\, complete with modifications for those less flexible or with mobility impairments. A double collum tie\, rope spreader bar and a practical wrist-to-thigh tie will round out the rope section of the workshop. These ties are designed to give you options that will work for both sex and play while being relatively simple to perform. DESCRIPTION:The heat and intensity of fire draw us to this type of edge play\, but they also make it dangerous. In this Fire Play Workshop\, we will learn\, step by step\, how to set up a fire play scene. \nFrom Fire Safety 101\, we will learn how to handle fire safely\, what fuel to use\, and why. We will become comfortable handling fire ourselves in a controlled environment before even thinking of applying it to another person. DESCRIPTION:Strap-ons can be enjoyable for people of all genders. It is a versatile style of play that can be used in any number of situations\, such as “bend over boyfriend” scenarios\, penetrative sex during chastity play\, double penetration and more. \nThere are as many myths as truths regarding strap-ons\, which the Strap-On Play for All Genders Workshop will address. Participants are encouraged to share their myths and fears. We will talk through some of the common hesitations that come up with strap-on play\, such as a fear of looking silly or hurting your partner. We will discuss why people engage in strap-on play\, with emphasis on themes like pleasure and power play (domination\, etc). \nParticipants will get general and personal advice on the different types of harnesses and dildos\, including strapless strap-ons. Alternative strap-ons will also be featured for people who are not able or don’t want to use traditional strap-on styles. Positions can greatly change sensations and dynamics\, so a number of suggestions will be given\, from ideal positions for beginners to more strenuous positions. Many times\, strap-on play will require lubricant\, so we will discuss the different types and which ones are best for which scenarios. \nThe Strap-On Play for All Genders Workshop is lecture-style. While there won’t be any demos on live subjects\, examples of harnesses\, dildos\, and some techniques will be shown in class. There is an emphasis on inclusivity during the workshop. \nThe workshop is presented in gender-neutral terms. This class is a safe space for LGBTQA people; attendees are expected to respect that.
