Bondage for Beginners

Bondage for Beginners Workshop Description

Bondage is a large part of BDSM – it’s what the “B” stands for, after all!

Come out and learn the basics of bondage! Ideal for those who are just starting out, or those who know the ropes, but want to improve their quick and effective ties. We will focus on rope bondage, but will also touch on favourites such as leather restraints, plastic wrap and tape bondage.

Safety first! We will take a look at what you need to know before you get started. Simple anatomy, how to engage in bondage safely and what to do in an emergency will be covered. We will focus on the fundamentals that you need to know to safely engage in floor (or bed) style bondage.

Get out your yoga mats because we get hands-on next. If you don’t have a mat, there will be a few extras that you can borrow, but its best to bring your own if you can. If you have preferred bondage rope, please bring that as well. A few different rope options will be available to borrow at the class.

We will start with a simple locking rope cuff that you can pre-tie before your scene begins. This helps eliminate nerves for beginners to bondage. The cuff won’t tighten around the wrist, ankle or anything else once you lock it into place, making it safer for those who like to struggle.

Choose your own adventure! A number of bondage options will be presented to the class, including a double collum tie, hogtie, Karada (body harness) and more. The participants will then choose which ties they would like to learn. Usually there is time for 3-4 different ties, but we will do as many as time allows!

These ties are designed to give you options that will work for both sex and play while being relatively simple to perform. Participants are also encouraged to improvise, combine ties and get creative!

This workshop is open to people of all skill levels and abilities. If you can’t get to the floor, have flexibility or mobility issues, modifications will be shown for alternative ties that better suit your needs. If you have any concerns about your ability to participate, feel free to reach out.

It is recommended that you bring a partner for this class, but solo participants are very welcome. They can practice on themselves or be paired with another person to practice with.

Each person should bring a yoga mat (or similar) and the rope of their choice. Some mats and rope will be available for people to borrow.

The Workshop is presented in gender-neutral terms. This class is a safe space for LGBTQA people, attendees are expected to respect that. Disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.
